The Big BadAss

[Vague, shadowy eyes slit open to gaze up at the oppressive hazy skies that seem to mirror Laura's mood. She didn't know just where she was or even how she'd gotten there...only that she'd awoken disoriented. Furrowing her brow in confusion, a small disembodied whisper hums as her eyes slip away from the dark, amibiguous, gray nothingness overhead.] Time? [With deliberate slowness, she glances down and notes the steady trickle of sweat pouring off her legs. Shirt plastered to her back. Shifting uncomfortably, her body cuts through the heavy air as she awkwardly rises to her knees. Her dim, unfocused eyes embody the sieve-like quality of her mind...for many long moments Laura stares straight ahead into a mute reality that is eeriely still. Mouth agape, her breath comes in quiet little gasps. Swallowing hard, the strong taste of ozone alerts her senses. Blinking owlishly, she slowly runs her tongue along her lips as her head lilts slightly off its axis. Suddenly a loud rumbling cacophony of thunder crashes overhead. Stumbling to her feet, a jolt of lightening casts Laura in half-shadow.] Have to find cover...[Pushing away from the tree at her back, she mindlessly heads east.]
