Tonight was Rob Lowe's final episode playing Sam Seaborn on The West Wing. Overall it was a good episode but as a farewell episode it was a pretty quiet exit for Rob. Sam's campaign was largely overshadowed by the story of the three hostage servicemen, etc. I guess it's hard to give a guy a standing ovation-type exit when he's been running around considering himself 'holier than entire cast', salary-wise.
Toby & Sam always were good friends and I liked their scenes but I found myself liking even more the subtle and not-so-subtle snarkiness between the FLOTUS (Stockard Channing) and Josh Lyman, and Donna's moment when she realized who sent the fax to Josh. I even liked the scenes that Stockard had with Mary Louise Parker and I ordinarily can't stand MLP but this time they gave her some great dialogue. "Save me", says the FLOTUS and who knew she meant ". . .walk me across the room or something"? :>
Charlie. Love me some Charlie. And as usual CJ had her brief moments.
Thanks, Aaron, for quietly showing Sam the door while continuing an interesting storyline for sweeps. This show is still one of the best in primetime :)
