biography

Welcome to my biography page where I'll attempt to give you a potted history of my musical life so far ...

I became involved in the music scene from an early age and actually did my first paid gig when I was only fourteen! Having picked up the guitar when I was nine, I suppose I was good enough to gig by then but in those days I was playing rhythm guitar and tentatively singing backing vocals.

In my late teens I developed a love of country guitar styles and so I began gigging across the UK in various bands honing my skills as lead guitarist and slide player.

I guess I began to find my voice in my mid-twenties and  continued to gig professionally, solo and with other musicians, getting involved in various projects.

It was during a tour with the 'Off the Wall' Pink Floyd tribute show that I first met Pete Mcgann. I was performing 'The Great Gig in Sky' in the show and having heard it, he told me that he would love to write an album for me.

Drawing from some of my many influences who include Bonny Raitt, Joni, Liz Wright, Jill Scott, Shawn Colvin and James Taylor  (well, there are too many to list!) we decided that my debut album would include some tracks that take me right back to my country roots but also my love of folk, R&B and blues will certainly be heard.

Over the years I have dipped my toe into the world of song-writing and hope to be releasing  some of my own tunes in the near future.

But for now, take a listen to my singles (available to download on my audio page) and see if they grab your fancy and in the meantime, watch this space for the new album soon to be  released.

Exciting times ahead.. :)
